Question Widest tires on 02 996?

What is the widest width of tire installed (front/rear). I am thinking of purchasing 18" with 265 front and 315 rear. I know they fit the car well since I have a track set with these measurements. An outfit of of Florida makes the rims (Complete and Custom Wheels).

I would say that's about as wide as you can go.

CCW makes a nice product. That is as wide as I have ever heard. Wish Ben was here

I run a 275 up front and a 315 in the rear. 1999 C2 Narrowbody. Rear fenders are rolled.

The 275's don't rub when turning? My track tires are 265's up front without any problems.

Whaddya mean by turning? Turning on the track or making a K turn reversing out of your drive way? The latter will rub at full lock but then so do 245s

The issue isn't the tire but the wheel that it is mounted on and the respective offset.

front... 8.5 with ET50 and lower work but ET45 is better. 9.5 with ET 45 and lower is a necessity. But that combo only works with aftermarket shocks that use a small spring and spring perch.

rear... 10-11.5 work. 11.5 ET 60 is as far as I have pushed it and they sit tucked inside the fender lip. The tires may rub the forward lower liner on the inside and you'll need to trim a triangular section out or just let the tire do it in about a 5 minute drive and you end up with a nice tidy trim exactly where it needs to be .
