flame away, would like to get an 08 cayman S
dealer called me today with an extremely aggressive 36 mo. lease on a 2008 cayman S. if i didn't have my 01 C4 i would already be driving it.
i know, going from 911 to cayman seems backwards, but i drove one on a track and it's fantastic. the mid-engine, 295 HP on a light chassis really feels great.
anyway, there's no way my SO would allow me to get another car, regardless of the deal, unless i sell my C4 and that seems highly unlikely given this economy.
i still want it though.

I think they look really nice in special colors.
Also the '09 models get another bump over 300hp so you can't really call it a backwards move anymore.
So you can work on selling your C4 this year and there will be more deals next year.

That being said, I drove a Cayman S and loved it. Not much of a step back.

I would buy Freds' car in a heatbeat... $45k, on page 3.

I looked at Caymans when I got my 996 and actually preferred them for how I use my cars but 1) They were still expensive at that point and 2) I've ALWAYS dreamed of owning a 911 so I went with the 996 instead.
Can't say either is a bad option really.

Yikes, I cringe at the thought of a $755/mo car payment, especially when you don't even own the car at the end. Agree with other posters, just buy a used one. At the current depreciation rates, you should be able to get a great deal within the next year.
