Okay, so there's this white 996 cab, with a blue top. The window was attacked, (innocently) with some formula that has "hazed" the rear window. In addition, the window has lost it's seal with the top, and there is some freying and separation.
Is this common?
If so, what is the fix?
If not, what is the dealer cost to fix?
After all of that, does anyone have a good shop, in Orlando, Fl.?
Thanks in Advance.

Meguires makes a good plastic polish, and so does Griots garage. There are several articles if you search on the details.
The window separation may be able to be repaired, but it is a difficult process, the window is plastic welded or melted in with a frame contraption that heats the welding material to attache the window and top. I had a brand new window and top that the dealer failed on three times. I think a new rear window and installation (dealer) was around 700-750 (retail) iirc.
Some have had the window stitched in by a good trim shop.
There are also aftermarked tops, around 2k installed for a 99-01 MY.

It sounds like it is time to replace the plastic. Even if you can remove the haze, it still needs to be restitched/re-glued to the top.
However, if you want to try to remove the haze, here is a post listing the products another RL'er used on his window. Rear Window
Find a good upholstery shop that can replace the window. It won't be much more expensive that repairing it, because either way the top has to be removed from the frame.
GAHH makes a replacement top with a glass rear window for about $2K. However, the glass window is a little smaller than the plastic window. Here is a post, with pics, of someone who got the GAHH top with the glass window. GAHH Top w/Glass Window
You can also do a search on GAHH to find additional soft top posts.
Please let us know what you decide to do and post pics of the results.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Some options of for cleaning in the window:
-Zaino Z-14 Plastic Magic Cleaner & Polish OR NuLife Plastic Products (http://www.noscratch.com/)
As for replacing the windows, any top upholsterer should be able to replace the plastic with a new window, glue it in, and then stitch it down for extra security. just make sure that the threads look good from the outside and are PERFECTLY done.
