Default Approx. Cost of Painting Aero Kit???

I have most of the parts of an OEM Aero kit (sans wing). I was looking to get them painted however my wife is getting ticked at me for spending too much money. The parts are fairly worthless when they are not painted. Does anybody know the approximate cost of getting a front bumper and side skirts painted? I don't know if it matters but my car is guards red.

Also, does anybody know a good (reasonably priced) paint shop near Columbus, Ohio?

as high as $1200 from a reputable place... includes: bumper, wing, sideskirts.

I am saving my pennies to get my aero kit painted. The shop that I use (he does Pebble Beach cars) wants $2,000, but that includes the hood and front fenders (to get rid of rock chips).

I paid (IIRC) $700 for my front GT3 bumper and side skirts on my 996CAB. That was for little to none on the prep side since they were poly genuine parts from the dealer. I think the breakdown was $400 for the front and $150 a skirt. If they are not genuine parts you could end up paying a ton more as the prep for aftermarket items can really be a nightmare.

The numbers quoted are right on. I was quoted $1200 for the full kit, and $700 for the front and sides. As Dell mentioned, this is for factory parts.

I think I paid 1700 for the wing, skirts and bumpers, Painted, matched and installed. Paint match is perfect!

I paid $1500 for GT3 Front, TA sides, and Misha wing. like everyone else said it depends on the fitment/quality. EVERY aftermarket manufacturer says their parts fit perfectly but that isn't always the case. OEM is going to give you the least amount of problems.

I paid $600 for the front bumper alone. Perfect color match.

There you go, it seems like you can get them painted for a little less than that.

Yeah, Glasurit is the original German paint, that company has been around forever, paint is very expensive these days...

just wanted to add, im not sure exactly what components you have but be very wary of fitting an aero kit without a rear wing. this is not a factory permissable combination for very good reason. these parts were designed to be functional and adding a wing without a front, or vice versa in your case destabilizes the balance at speeds lower than you would think.

You have it the wrong way around. It is acceptable to fit the front bumper and side skirts without the wing, but not the wing without the front bumper.

The wing without the bumper is unsafe and you will feel the lightness in handling at as low a speed as 90mph (ask Yasuro). I had the bumper and side skirts (without the wing) up as high as 120 and felt no problems with handling.

Neil, you are correct in stating the Porsche designed the Aero kit to work as one cohesive unit.

However, Wayne is correct in stating that it is acceptable to add a front splitter without the wing. The splitter does not create down force, it reduces lift, which stabilizes the front even more. However a rear wing does increase down force which MUST be counter balanced with a front splitter or Aero bumper.
