Default RUF 996 Ducktail FS

I spotted this over on 6-speed. I am not affiliated with the buyer. If I didn't already have an OEM taco tail waiting to be installed, I would grab this. $1,000 seems like a pretty good price for a RUF part. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/a...l-spoiler.html

Sorry Mark, but I'm not crazy about this wing.

Hey Tim, it might look snappy on the back of your Honda.

yeah, because it looks like it was made by Honda!

I'm with Tim - not a big fan of that look on a modern Porsche.

Would have to agree...not very complimentary looking. Hey Mark, how is your current project going?

Agreed! It probably would make my car look better, if that's possible!

I'm glad I have a taco tail waiting to go on my car and not the duck tail...I don't think my fragile ego could handle the criticism. I still haven't gotten over Ben telling me that all black wheels only belong on UPS trucks.
Tim, I saw an old episode of Top Gear where they did a drag race of an Aston Martin DB5, Jaguar XKE, and a Honda Accord similar to yours...the Honda won. Thats not bad company.
Hi Steve, I hope you are enjoying your steering wheel. When you ask me about project cars, most of the time you have to specify....it's a serious addiction. The Porsche is great. It's a keeper. I haven't started on the 59 Maserati restoration yet, because I'm waiting for my ebay buyer of the Alfa to get his car out of my garage. He is from the Netherlands. He bought the car on 10-7-08 and has paid for it in full. I'm not sure why it is taking a while for him to get it shipped. I can't really complain because it's paid for, unlike a previous ebay adventure. Here is a picture of a project that I just bought last week. I should be picking it up in a few days. Judging from your list of repairs, it sounds like your Porsche is treating you pretty good.

Mark, you are the antithesis of LA Dismantlers. You should become LA Remantler... or better yet Reanimators, Ltd.

Mark- Your 'old' steering wheel is such an upgrade from the 4 spoke, makes driving my 996 so much better, plus an improved look. I was asking about the Maserati project...no wonder your buyer paid in full for the Alfa, you make it very easy to do a deal . I enjoy my '99 C2 and just went past 44k miles this week on my odometer. I have had no issues other than a bad front wheel bearing.GL on the 'new' project Bimmer.

Mark if you like enough, I could always buy it and trade for your aero wing...

It takes some getting used to on the newer cars (whereas it looks so perfect on a 73 RS), however I like it better than the stock 996TT spoiler. I assume it would fit a 996TT just fine, but can anybody please confirm? Also, any reason to worry that it would affect downforce / upset the handling? Thanks.

no... will not fit a widebody. I would get the matching front bumper with this wing...

Thank you. I did see a similar design on a Maritime blue or similarly-colored 996TT in a post a while back. I'll try to find that post and see what kind of decklid that is. As for the front spoiler, I would ideally have a GT2 front bumper.
