Hi, all..
Another long-time wannabe, first time owner here. The twist is, I bought the car from Tom in CT, another Rennlister (see "Very Sad Day...F/S '04 CS4 Cab" a few pages back).
First things first... Tom is a great guy, and I would encourage any of you to consider giving him as good a deal as you can, when he is ready to re-enter the world of Porschedom. (Because, he ain't gettin' THIS one back!
)
Second, given the rather unusual circumstances, I think I'm going to need a ruling on pictures. Seems a little repetitively redundant to post the same car under a new banner, doesn't it? Since I live in Las Vegas, can I just photoshop Tom's Connecticut backgrounds out of his pics and artificially place the car in front of a casino or a house of ill repute? Are you listening, Tim?
I need answers!
Lastly, it seems that I was woefully unprepared for the first question that everyone wants to ask the new P-car owner.."What's your vanity plate going to be?" I hadn't given it much thought. I'm partial to "GR8 BG DK", but the wife thinks that I might run afoul of the Truth-in-Advertising laws.
She suggests "CMPNS8N" (compensating) but, incredibly, it's already taken! Apparently, she's not the ONLY smart-aleck wife in the state of Nevada!
So, let me have it... what is your plate, and may I steal it if necessary?

AV,
Congrats! My vote would be for new pics of the old car in the new environment... Redundancy isn't a bad thing and if this is your first, you shouldn't get cheated out of all the joys of new ownership! (If some weird quirk of the universe resulted in Shania Twain (or Nicole Kidman or, or, or...) being my next significant other you can bet your *** there will be a whole new set of pictures out there...
I thought about the vanity plate thing too... but the good ones I thought of were all taken (I really liked "HI HO AG")... so I'm still without. Don't be shy about sharing your plate when you get to it...
We're down here in San Diego... the wife was thinking about taking the p-car on our next trip to your town (now that gas is cheaper and airfare isn't - I don't know how she does it, but she always gets these free room offers... this one came with a New Year's party attached to it)... but I think a five hour drive is a bit long for cars like ours...
Welcome and congratulations again!

Some pics of the hotter employees at the house of ill repute should suffice in place of the car.
Welcome!

Yep, pics or ban.
Hotties preferred.
Vanity plate - pass. Not a fan.

First off, Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats on getting the P-car! OK, now that we got all of that "nice ****" out of the way, down to the business of pics!
I will have to say that was a valiant effort about re-posting Tom's pics. But I have conferred with myself and have decided that virgin of the car pics are required. You will notice that I said "virgin pics of the car" and not "pics of virgins and the car" as I think that latter may be an impossible task in Vegas!

Ok, Ok, I get it... new pics required. Here she is, in a local park after having the cross-country trip washed off. The long drive was a blast! I got to visit/show off with my daughter in New Hampshire, my son in Ohio, and with my new best friend in Arizona... that would be the state trooper who, after finding out that this was my "always-wanted-one" car, and that I'd only owned it a few days, let me off with only a warning for my "86-in-a-75-zone" transgression. His parting words were "Enjoy the car... but try not to enjoy it quite so much in MY state!"

Nice...looks like you're getting all sorts of action with the new ride--remember to use protection or you might get dust or spiderwebs on your junk.
