As new owner of 2003 996 C4 Cab (pics will follow soon), where do you recommend I look for parts and performance enhancements options? Not ready yet for a SC as don't want to scare wife too much (she likes the fact that I purchased a 6speed), but perhaps a Short Shift kit, Brakes, etc.

Welcome
Yes, pictures - soon!!
You will find a lot of great info on mods fro performance and repairs to your new baby here. Just sort them out and make the choices that best fit your needs, looks like your 1st 2 choices have been great!!
1. buy P-car
2. go to rennlist
although in my case doing those in reverse would have served me better...
Anyhow, welcome !

Suspension upgrade will be the best first performance mod. Lots of choices: X74, PSS9/10, H&R... My personal fav is the X74. It's Porsche, specifically tuned to your car.
Leave the brakes alone for now. The brakes in the P-car are superlative. If you track the car, simply switch to a higher temp brake fluid, like Motul, first. Then get a Power Bleeder. The OEM pads are fine, but, if you track a lot, then you may find that the pads and rotors will wear out fast. When that time comes, then go with Pagids, Hawks.
The next best performance mod.... YOU!! Take that car and yourself to the track and do some DE's. The capabilities of the P-car far exceed the capabilities of the average or even above average driver. Come to think of it, don't d any mods to the car at all. Just take it as-is to the track!!

It's a slippery slope, friend. Welcome.

Check the RennList sponsors as a source for parts. Agree with Palting... first mod should be the driver. Sign up for a PCA drivers ed as soon as possible. The car is very capable bone stock, but eventually you will probably want to make suspension mods, particularly if your car has the base suspension.
Welcome.

Sorry, didn't quite answer the original question, did I?
I've actually found e-Bay to be a good place for upgrades. Just stick to the known sellers. Quite a lot of them are actually Porsche dealers trying to unload parts. Suncoast is one of them. That's how I bought the GT3 seats.
I also trawl through the Rennlist sponsors regularly. Once in a while I get a welcome surprise on something I need/want that they happen to overstock on.
For the driver upgrades, the best bang for the buck is your local Porsche Club chapter. DE's and autocrosses galore. If you've got the bucks, go for the PDE from PCNA. Too expensive to keep repeating as you can with the regular club DE/autocross, but worth the experience.

Thanks to all. Let me clarify.. I joined Rennlis, have good friend who are all fanatics, then purchased car. I was already planning to find out about DE's in South Florida. I raced in SCCA the Spec Racer, BMW's, and autocrossed a lot when I used to live in Maryland. Known as Mad Max in some circles :-). Best of everything is that 1) wife is excited (happy wife, happy husband), 2) wife insisted on manual (wonder why), 3) she is ready to drive and take the keys away from me and in return she will give me her MB.. NOT!!!!. and 4) I am orgasmic.. maybe because of # 1. Cheers,

Great! Mad Max in a P-car!
.
Lots of choices on sources. You gotta start with deciding which upgrade you want to do first, as each upgrade probably has a different source, and there are different upgrades within a given upgrade.
Congratulations on the getting car! Is this your first Porsche? I suggest enjoy it as-is first. That way you'll know what you want to change. I have lots of friends who have been racing and tracking a long time and just slap a set of track tires on their otherwise stock Porsche and have a blast. Of course, there's the other end of the extreme, friends who have street legal porsches that are undrivable on the street.
BTW, if you want intelligent answers, you have to post pics of your car first. It is MANDATORY

don't go crazy on engine performance enhancement mods. you can spend $$$$$$$$$ for only a few additional ponies that you might not even notice. the sc is the only engine performance up-grade that will definately make a difference, but at a premium cost and will void any warranty that you might have. suspension and exhaust upgrade is what I would recommend for this type of car.
