996 Traction Control
Hi guys, new to this forum but after some info.
My wife has recently bought a 1998 996 Carerra. It's black and had a Mustard yellow interior, until we ripped it out and had it retrimmed in black leather. The stereo is a kenwood pop out DVD player, have relpaced all the speakers with top shelf gear, amp and 12" sub in the parcel shelf (or lack thereof). It was quite a tricky install!
Anyway, the info I'm after. How do I turn off the traction control. I have been assured it has it but the TC rocker isn't in the console, just a blank. The TC idiot lightd don't show up when starting the car either.
Please help as I need to finish these tyres off so she has an excuse to buy new ones!!
Brett

Ok, so welcome first off... nice choice for the wife. Sounds like you are having some fun too. I like the "burn up the tires" idea
so as far as i am aware 99' is the first year of the 996 (though production most likely started before then, I dont think any are registered as a 98') Not sure, but fairly sure - post a few pictures so we can all enjoy it as well.
I am not sure about the traction control, but it sounds like you may not actually have it?? The sticker under the hood may show options, post those and someone will let you know what they mean. (but again, pictures first )
since I am not 100% sure, I will also watch this thread to see the outcome,
Again welcome and GL !!

Brett, Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats on getting the P-car!
OK, now down to business! I don't really like doing this but these guys make me do it (see bolded comments above)!
It is customary for Newbies to 1) introduce themselves, which you have done, 2) tell us a little about the car, which you did, and 3) post pics of the car, which I don't see. So, I have to give you the "Newbie Welcome" (remember they make me do this) . Come on Newbie, post the !@%^* pics!!! Damn guys, that felt good!!
Brett, as I hope you can tell, this is all in good fun. We would love to see pics of your car, because most of us are pic ******!
Once again, Welcome to Rennlist!
