Opinion on wheels please
Please vote on which look you like best.
When I originally purchased the car they had the standard BBS Sport Classic II's as seen below (sorry for the quality, scanned pic)
I grew tired of this look (plus the BBS' were a PITA to keep clean) and bought a pair of inexpensive 19" wheels off Ebay. I really liked the look but the backspacing on the rear isn't perfect. It's about 5mm too far out.
Lastly, the 19" ride was too harsh and I've been wanting to go with some black rims lately so I decided to expirement with my old Sport Classic II's and painted the centers and center cap black.
I was also toying with the idea of painting the 5 stars a gunmetal or black color as well.

I really like the look of those 19s, but I'm not sure I could handle the ride either. Looks like you are about as wheel nuts as me. I have three cars to shod and I've gone a little nuts buying wheels lately. I am attaching pictures of the 3 cars, then another post with all the wheels I've bought since spring. Once I decide which ones I like best, I will have a fire sale on wheels. Wifey found out how much I had been spending on wheels and tires, and I thought she didn't know to access that bank account.

GT3s or Sport Classics in straight silver, 18s, lowered, 15mm spacer up front + 7mm rear if sport classic will give a great look (although make sure you post the offsets on the sport classics you have)

Sports classics are 996 offsets. I have some 17mm spacers to fit whichever set I decide on the Boxster. The Gemballas and GT3s are 8.5 and 11 inch with 996 offset so there is no way to fit on the Boxster. That sort of leaves me thinking; Sport Designs on Boxster, and either GT3s or Gemballas on 996, and I think the 17 inch Cups on 968.
That would leave me a set of 18 twists with 996 offset, 17 inch Boxster twists, 16 inch fugly Cups with fake 2 piece design, not sure what possessed me to actually buy those wheels, 18 inch Voxx 10 spokes with Boxster size and offsets, but I've had them on the 996 for 20k miles, and either the Gemballas or Gt3s all for sale.
The Voxx wheels are the best looking wheels I have, but they are of dubious quality for spirited driving. I have 6 other 18 inch twists not shown here. Two of the rears are painted midnight blue to match the 968, but they don't fit, as they have an ET40 offset. They were misrepresented when I bought them, but I just kept them thinking some day I might have a use for them.
The other two rears are 996 offsets. They would actually fit the Boxster with a refinishing, and still leave me 2 extras.
I've been thinking of painting the spokes of the 18 inch twists to color match the forest green on the Boxster??? My wife thinks that is a bad idea. I also have a set of D90s I tried on the 968 for awhile but they looked terrible. I also put them on a 97 Boxster I used to have, but they looked bad on it too. They won't fit my 80 911 either, as the offsets are somewhere around 50s. They might well be the ugliest wheel Porsche ever put on a 911.
I've got a lot of tires as well, but to my chagrin Pete Zimmerman set me straight, in that tires over 5 years old should not be put into service on a Porsche. An expensive lesson as I've bought tires I didn't really need for use in the future, just because they were on sale. I'll have a hard time throwing perfectly nice looking tires away, some have never been on the ground, or been outside.
Just so I don't get into trouble with the moderator, this is not for purposes of selling these wheels. I will eventually sell some of the wheels on Ebay or here at some point, but not until I'm certain I have everything the way I'm going to leave it. I really need some opinions as to which wheels look best on which cars. I have several opinions, but I've had the Voxx wheels on my 996 with those sport designs sitting in the basement for quite awhile. Had a guy over here the other night that couldn't believe those wheels were just laying around in a box. I suppose my opinion is obviously not that great

I would rather see a suspension upgrade first and then swapping his current sport designs for an used set of MKII GT3 wheels.
