If the police in your vicinity do not use laser much and there are a lot of Infinitis or Lexus/Toyotas around you, you may want to consider turning off the laser warning.

Advanced Logic for me.

I used this mode in cross-country trips, plus around town daily driving. Works perfect. Alerts me to the bad guys, and doesn't go off every two seconds for false alarms. Saved me many times on my long trips.

Why do you need to turn features off - do you get too many false positives?

Advance logic for me. I tried the new Passport 9500i when I bought this car in June. The passport was nice, it was fine, it was really quiet, eerily quiet, was it working??? Actually, it went off once for a cop and I wasn't so sure what was happening. I returned it and bought another V1.

Although the V1 is "noisy" - I've been saved so many times. It's just ultra-sensitive to noise (and to police radar/laser, too). I turn it off if I'm not using it - mainly use it on the highway, and I just learn to ignore it or turn it down volume in everyday driving. However, I speed, fact of life. I try to stay within 10mph above the limit for about 90%-95% of my driving, but there's another 5%-10% that I'm running 20+ over - that's when I'm really glad to have the V1 - it's incredible. Wish it had GPS lockout like the passport, and maybe it will someday. For now, V1 is simply unreplaceable.

I have disabled the laser warning on my V1 so that I can use it in my Infiniti.

Also, I use the Logic mode (small L)...
