I am trying to find a 17 inch rim for a friend. P/N 996-362-126-05. This rim was used on a 996 Carrera 2, 17x8.5 inch with a 50 offset. This will be used for the track so the rim needs to be true.

If it makes it any easier for you the wheel specs you're looking for are Boxster rears not 996. Even in 17's the rear wheels were still 9' on the 996.

I run boxster rears in that size as my fronts on the track.

I stand corrected. Maybe that was an optinal snow wheel? Good luck in your search my friend. If all else fails the boxster rears are easy to obtain...they're just not an exact match if that even matters in a track wheel. Mine are flat black so that people hopefully won't notice that they're not the same wheel front to back.
