Default Nankang NS-2 tires? Anyone used them?

I actually haven't heard of them before but that's what was on the car when I bought it. I started doing some research and most reviews (although there are not very many to be found) were good. I'm looking at a price of about $90/tire which seems too good to be true. Anybody have any experience with the Nankang brand and specifically the NS2 model?

Well after digesting all the ingenious and insightful comments provided here, I still wanted to find out more. ... So I went to the BMW forums and found several people who are actually using the tires for track use as well as daily drivers. All positive comments, especially about their treadlife and quiet ride. Also found out that Nankang has a contract with Ford to provide OEM tires for some models (which ones, not sure?). Discount Tire as well as several online companies sell them. For the price I may have to try them again. I've got no complaints with having them other than the availabilty in Porsche OEM sizes...
There, we now have 1 thread on this forum that will turn up if anyone ever searches for nankang tires.

At that price I say roll the dice and get em, report back. Men kept cars on the road with bias ply tires, I'm sure yours won't implode from some chinese rubber.

OK but you have to provide some pictures first or the tires will cause your motor to blow up...........

I've sold the Porsche since I bought the tires but did get to put about 7-8k miles on them. For the money they are great tires. They are pretty quiet, good dry grip, average wet grip, and seem to wear well. No problems with them during the time I was driving on them.
I now have an E55 Mercedes needing new tires. I'm debating on trying a set of Nankangs. If I do I'll report back and see how they handle aggressive driving with 525 ft/lbs of tq.....
