Default I could cry - last night as a p-car owner

It had to happen some day - and now it has arrived.

Last day as a proud owner of a P-car for this round.

Tomorrow at 11 am I'm going to change my 2000 C4 coupe for a 2007 Audi S4 cab.

The p-car has driven me 121.000 km now without any hitch, and I would gladly have driven it to 250.000 km.

But the rear seats are now to small for my kids. And there is no way around it (save buying a Cayenne) to get some proper rear seats.

I have very much enjoyed these forums, and learned a lot about my favorite car. But until the Panamera (sp?) comes around or the kids leave the nest - then I'm stuck with other brand cars for now.

Thanks everyone, and I will still hang around the off-topic forums and pay my Rennlist fee, so I'm ready for my next p-car.

Signing off - bye everyone.

Look on the bright side, you could be going to a much worse car than a new Audi S4...it would be up there on my own list of alternatives to a P-car.

Be well & drive safe!

Life circumstances change and I am sure that in between this P-car and your next P-car you'll find worthwhile, valuable, and enjoyable experiences. It was 30 years in between my first Porsche, life events, and my current Porsche. I can remember double jogging strollers and a string of mini-vans and I still smile over the associated memories. Almost done paying for the final and third set of braces and preparing to start paying for college educations. So far I believe the P-car will remain a member of the family, but as I said, life circumstances change so we roll with it as it is.

Best regards

Congratulations on your Audi - great car, too! I hope you'll be back. In the meantime, have a great time with your family, your kids and your Audi.

Congrats on the new Audi. It's a wonderful car and the only convertible with a real backseat.

didn't Porsche buy the VW/Audi group..or a large stake in it?? So you are actually still driving a P (just a little) and damn an Audi is still better than a Honda!! ( hint hint...trying to get a certain ex P driver to respond)

Nicolaas,

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing when I read the reply form mtl911sc!

Ice_Man, I know how you feel! However, it could be much worse, you could be driving a POS Honda Accord!

S4 in Sweden? Does it have the 4.2 V8 or another motor? Great car, especially in the snow!

Good luck!

Dude I'm 5 7",151lbs @ 6% bodyfat. I fit in the back of the 996,how can you kids not? I'm not saying it was super comfortable but your kids can't be THAT big.

Hang around on the forum.

to be honest Tim...if that is your Honda (white one) life isn't so bad....if you close one eye and squeeze the other to a tiny slid.....your accord looks at a distance like a BMW 5 series...in a dark street with some (okay a lot) of imagination.

Thanks guys - picked it up today, and said goodbye to my 996. Phew - internal tears ran freely.

But the S4 is damn nice really. The V8 is a great engine and pulls very strong. Surprises me a bit, even after having test driven a few.

Will post some pics soon just for the heck of it - but its super nice looking. Has been through the Audi Exclusive program, and gotten medium beige alcantra inserts and stichings in beige too (otherwise black car with black leather).

The modding itch has already started - a nice exhaust system would be in place to make that baby scream a bit more.

But what really makes my day - iPod integration, bluetooth and actually usable nav system. Wont go back to PCM-1 again I can tell you right now ;-)

Anyways - will hang around. Post a pic soon and try to be happy with my new car.

Can't go wrong with an Audi. I've got a '99 A6 Avant and it hauls everything.

HAVE FUN!!!!!
