Default Wheel stud conversion

Converting my 99 C2 to wheel studs, versus factory wheel bolts. Does anybody have any suggestions where to purchase the studs?

BBS makes them. You'll be shocked at how much they get for them.

Any race shop should be able to get them or you can probably contact BBS mortorsports yourself.

Wheel Enhancement can get them for you. I was going to buy some from them until I learned they wouldn't work with my street wheels.

Once I get a trailer and sell the street wheels, I will be getting them as well.

That's one thing to watch for. Studs come in different lengths and usually have a blank area (no threads) next to the hub. If you get longer studs to work with thick magnesium or aluminum racing wheels the blank area may be too long for your street wheels. (I wonder if that made any sense)

I would imagine faster switching between street/track slick/rain and most guys says a stud is stronger than equivalent bolt.

In my case, the hole for the nut had too small of a diameter for the open ended nut to fit on it...

....that what she said.

Exactly.

Ruf does have them, but @ $300.00 + shipping. Guess I'll have go that route.

Only consolation is that they only use the best (IMO).........

Thanks to all

Why not find the supplier, I'm sure it's stamped on the stud somewhere

The nuts from BBS fit. I used my stock wheels for rain tires.

check with CDOC. I've seen them in their catelog and they are a rennlist sponsor.

no affiliation, just a satisfied customer

As has been pointed out you need to make sure that the collar sits in the right location on the stud as they are NOT all the same and don't all work with the same wheels (pay attention to shank length). The CDOC catalog has several to choose from but the ones I wanted (bullet tip) for my car would work with either of my wheels (BBS Motorsport wheels and Fikse Profil 13's). You can easily run into a situation where the threads end and the nut needs to go a bit further. I would definitely consult a professional for this one. My race shop installed mine. I went with the BBS studs and they fit my BBS and Fikse wheels as well as my stock wheels.

FYI....the BBS studs I went with are the 65mm length stud 14x1.5mm (they are on p102 of the new CDOC catalog).
