Default Champion 996 on Ebay...Magazine feature car

I just spotted this on ebay. It is a 99 996 Champoin special edition. It has some nice features and the article in Excellence magazine was interesting. I love the carbon fiber center section on the taco tail...does anybody know where to buy the CF center section?

Anyone look at the pics... Pretty on the outside, ugly on the inside. Reminds me of this girl one time... Oh nevermind.

I don't get how you could mess up a seat so bad in 20,000 miles. I also don't understand why the seller wouldn't fix it prior to selling the car....oh well, it needs GT3 seats anyway. It will be interesting to see what it sells for. Chad's was gorgeous and had some great mods. I wonder if being a magazine feature car adds anything to the value?

I've been looking for this carbon fiber center section on the taco tail for years but can't find one!

Ciao,

This is the car I'm looking at, I was baffled as to how a seat could get bastardized like that in only 20mls, owner said he got it like that, the thing that worries me is that it was located in a flood disaster area for two years, car fax is clean but a PPI is a must.

Also wondering why a car like this has not sold in this many weeks, for 33K that is still a nice car, I was going to do GT3 seats anyway.

Hopefully the seller replies to my e-mail so I can get that visual inspection done, has not replied back lately so maybe its sold locally?

I'm guessing that Champion Porsche would know where we could get the CF center section for the taco tail.
Bavorak, the ebay item, still appears to be active. The seller said something about people having trouble with his email. It looks like a beautiful car...but the wear on the seat would be a red flag and his seller approval rating of 95% would also worry me. Good Luck.

THAT's one of the sister car's to mine!!!! We have now found 2 of the 3 that were ordered from Champion. WOWOWOWOWOW!!

RE: the carbon fiber. It was a custom element made by FVD and Champion. when the MkI phased out, they stopped making them. When I had my aero's, I wanted the CF section as well. It is VERY nice. FVD also made an extended version.

I think originally something cut the seat(jean stud etc) and then the constant rubbing getting in an out has worsened it. My 99 was worn in exactly the same spot(not right through though) and it had only 44km's when I got it. The rest of the car looks mint to my eye.

Here is a close-up of the CF section on the taco tail. This is one of my favorite 996 models. GT3 seats & a supercharger and it would be about perfect.
