Question Alu on Shift-**** removal, possible???

Hello everyone,
Just want to check on this forum if anyone has tried to replace the leather on the shift **** and therefore would need to remove that little aluminum piece on top of it? Is it clued on or is there any pin behind? Can it be removed without damage and put back after the leather has been replaced? My shift-**** leather needs both the **** and the boot to be replaced, too worn down... Anyway if anyone has done this successfully please let me know how you did it so that I can try on mine. Thanks a lot...

I'm looking for a grey shifter and e-brake too! Sorry for "hi-jacking" thread also.

Yes, you can remove with finger nails, or butter knife. And yes, you can put it back. GL!
