Default Paint "Clouding" With Calgon Bra

My wife has a 2003 red G35. Both of us have calgon bras. A couple of weeks ago, I washed, waxed, and put the bras on both cars as I have many times. Both were on for a couple of weeks, then removed. On her car, the hood where the bra was had become cloudy looking. I thought this was just some moisture thing and it would guickly clear up. Well, it's been 3 days now and it's still there. The front fenders weren't affected nor was the front bumper. When rubbing the hood, there's no tactical difference where it's cloudy.
I've used Calgon bras on several cars and have installed these on the 996 and G-35 many times and have never seen anything like this. I washed the hood with car wash, then a light wash w/dish detergent thinking the problem was in the wax, then I used a clay bar, then rewaxed. It had no affect.
Any thoughts on how to remedy?

you are going to have to be more aggressive with some polishing/cutting pads and a PC (porter cable) type device. look over at autopia.org

I would never put a bra on my car...microscratches due to dust, contaminents, rubbing and they just look bad IMHO.

did the leather bra get wet during its time on the car? It is very likely that if water was left to soak with the leather that it stained the paint, which is normal of leather bras. Some would bleach out in the sun over time while others would require a repaint....it all depends on how bad it is. You should take it to a body shop to see what they say.

All the instances I have seen when there is a cloudy looking area, it is actually lightly scratched. I found the bras were scratching the surface of the clear. When the clear is scratched it looks cloudy. The only way to get rid of it is to lightly compound untill it starts to dissappear. So start with a mild compound like swirl remover and polish untill it starts dissappearing. And dont put the bra on anymore.

Thanks all. I'll try these suggestions, hopefully keeping me out of the body shop.
