The trunk-mounted CD changer magazine won't come out when I push the EJECT button. Is there some way to get it out without dissasmbling the entire unit?
My used 996 came with every manual except the one for the CD changer.

AFAIK there isn't a separate manual for the CD changer that I could find, either. I had a magazine get stuck recently, (Actually, twice, 2 different ways..once it just kept saying "Loading" no matter what and the power off trick worked, the other time it said "Magazine", and I had to use the metal ruler trick. I put a small dab of Silglide on the locking pin location after that,so far no problems since) all I had to do was pull the bus connector apart to kill power to the unit, then when I plugged it back in, the eject worked. There IS a way to disengage the pin that locks the magazine, but it's pretty hard to describe via internet. You need a thin flat stiff not too wide metal shim...I used a SS ruler. If you insert it about 2/3's of the way across the top of cassette, and push down & to the left (like I said it's a feel thing), you can disenage the metal pin that locks the cassette in place. I have a spare cassette, so I can "see" where the pin locks in for a reference.
