Default pse 3.6L MKII mod : suggestions.?

I have GHL loud at the moment, but I'm pondering about doing this mod as it might be a bit more civilized ... I have a couple questions :
1)which is a decent muffler/welding shop that I can get the job done in OC cali area ?
2) do i need to order the parts ( stainless steel tubing..ie from Burns) or the shop would have it?

Thanks.

I did mine at AAA performance in Venice area, I had them dismount the cans, supply 2.25" pipe, cut and weld, and re-fit. If you get up to LA once in a while it's not too far off the 405

can't remember exactly, but I did pay cash, couldn't have been terrible. Honestly any muffler shop can do it, so if theres someone close to you that you know, just bring them a picture of before and after and they'll make it happen.

A LOT of info here...

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/304600-pse-modded-3-6-mufflers-how-close-in-sound-to-a-real-pse.html

Especially posts 23-29. Any decent shop should be able to look at the pics and the description and fab what you need.

May want to pm FisterD for some advice - possible exchange???

To do this mod properly, it should be done with stainless tubing and welded with stainless. Otherwise, it will rust pretty quickly, being right behind the wheel. The other thing is to make sure they cut the hole close to the size of the tubing. If they just bore a whole with a hole saw, it will lose some of it's effectiveness.
Plus there are two mods to choose from, bypass between inlet /outlet pipes (referred to as MkI), or connecting the outer port to the outlet pipe (MkII).
MkI= Louder and more aggressive sounding
MkII=More subtle, hard to tell the difference from stock, except under hard acceleration.
