Default I love taking pictures

Here are two for my fellow enthusiasts:

---------------------------------------------------

I know..I know there are many many things wrong with the second picture. 40 mph in a 5th gear is asking for RMS gremlins

What exactly do you mean by "40mph in 5th gear is asking for RMS gremlins"?
Unless it is a steep incline, there is nothing wrong with that.

I don't know about RMS gremlins, but I know that 40mph in 5th is lugging that engine something fierce. It's not good for that engine, not at all.

Go look at a dyno chart for your engine. Look at the torque it's producing at the rpms you'd be turning at that speed in that gear. It's like asking a scooter engine to move your 3200 lb. car around. How can that possibly be good for it?

Please believe me: You are not sparing your engine by lugging it.

I agree Bruce. I knew someone would comment on that. I just slowed down enough to take the picture and somehow it remained in that gear (better than taking a picture doing 130mph)

Tough crowd for not liking the pictures LOL

Bruce
It is very easy to feel and hear if the engine is lugging. It really depends on the
road, and if you are maintaining speed or accelarating. Sometimes 1300RPM in
6th grear is perfect to maintain speed, and there is no lugging. Plenty of torque
to maintain speed and cruise.

But it's a tip...I've never driven one, but I guess I always assumed that they were set up to not let you be in a gear that would lug the engine.
