2000 996 will not go into reverse- Ideas? shifter bushing? Or does the 996 have access between the rear seats like the 911/930? could be a loose coupler....?

Anything to check would be welcomed info-

Cheers- Mike

heres a link on how to remove the rear console (download the pdf install for the SSK), check under the shifter, the link might of failed. Also under the car by the tranny... might of de-coupled. Aslo look for the shifter cables... they are also known to fail as well.

+1 on the shifter cable! When my last RMS was changed (together with LWFW), the shop couldn't put my car in reverse as a clamp for a shifter cable broke.
