When comparing at low RPM's, don't forget you're revving 2 flywheels i.e.." Dual mass flywheel "

Could you explain the dual-mass flywheel? Perhaps a diagram for the mechanically impaired?

Yes, 996's rev very slow.

I started a thread on it a long time ago. Rev an M3 and you'll know the difference right away.

e-gas.
Quicker throttle responce on a na car than on the Turbo......some mods can help both, but out of the box in both cases a noticable dif in blips to say a 993.

What is "bleeping?" Is that like "expletive deleted?"

Are you possibly referring to "blipping the throttle" when heel & toe downshifting?

My '99 has mechanical throttle (iirc) and my blips are bleeping awesome.

You must understand, a 996 is NOT a real Porsche and therefore it revs painstakingly slow. Yes a Camry is faster, in fact I got my "bleeping" a$$ kicked by a Camry yesterday. I was so embarrassed...

If you want a REAL, i.e. fast reving, Porsche, buy a 993,997,964, 993TT, 996TT, 997TT, 997GT3, 997GT3RS, etc. LOL

Anyone here willing to trade me their Camry for my 996? I'll even thow some cash into the deal if necessary.

Lower photo is standard rubber core at about 32lbs
upper is single mass light weight at 13 lbs.

much better revs

and yes some truth to the statement a 996 or for that matter any Porsche built for N. America is not a real Porsche...
