Does anyone have a good picture that accurately shows what the violet color on the Milleniums looks like? I've seen several come up for sale on the net recently, but they always look like a dark grey metallic in the pictures...

As it happens, I'm planning to sell my Millennium, and I was taking photos of it last week.

I haven't been able to capture the color very well with my digital camera. It's possible Chromaflair Violet is outside the sensor's gamut. Or the software didn't white-balance correctly in this situation. Or I haven't found the best technique yet.

Here is a photo of the car that was taken on film, scanned with a slide scanner, and color-corrected. I think it shows the violet phase pretty well.

Here is a photo taken with my digital camera. The violet doesn't seem as saturated. Maybe that's the effect you were asking about.

I've never succeeded in getting a good photo of the green phase of the car's finish; you have to look into the sun to see it, and the light level always seems to overwhelm my photo gear. Perhaps if you have a good neutral density filter it would help.
