Default White smoke

Ok guys,

Started the car this morning, WHITE SMOKE just a for sec....why is that?

Oil level is fine. The car has 41K miles. I washed the car yesterday, so only time it was driven is when I back out of the garage and then started back up to drive into the garage. Is it maybe because I started and stopped for such short intervals???

Also, the driveway is about a 15 degree drop to the street and that where the car was when I washed it.

thats just some oil deposits that got burned at start up, not a big deal...it happens to some cars when parked at an angle..

FYI, I had a puff of white smoke intermittently at startup and it turned out to be the oil separator. It's an easy test for a well equipped shop to determine if yours is bad.

I'm pretty sure that a bit of "white smoke" is some water vapor that either condensed in the mufflers from last ride which was probably short or maybe even a bit of water that got up the pipe from washing.

Same thing has happened to me when detailing the car and trying to move it around in the garage to keep it out of the sun. If it smokes from cranking it back up after a real drive I would be concerned.

Mine did the same thing after having the front wheels on ramps for a few (like 8) hours. Assumed it was oil pooling.

White smoke, no smell will be water based vapor. Oil smoke is bluish/gray. Coolant is whitish with a sweetish kinda smell to it.
