Code P1539, CEL on, please help...
Hi guys I just put a new engine in the cabrio and a check engine light has popped up. Runs great, doesn't smell rich, don't see any problems.
Can someone tell me how to fix this issue? It seems pretty technical.
(Loren? MFletch? ...are you guys out there? )

Hi Loren, thanks. I got that before but I have no idea what to do with that information. Is this an issue resulting in a defect from the new engine or is there somewhere else I should start? Do you have practical steps for me to take?
Thanks so much for your help.

Check the connector and the wiring to the cam actuator the right side of the car.
B+ would be 12 volts.
If the actuator is bad then I suggest letting a shop do that. The cam cover has to come off.

well, i pretty much am the shop. i put the motor in myself as i did with my tiptronic. is this an issue that would be the responsibility of the seller of the new motor? he gave me a warranty. the entire intake, wiring harness, starter, alternator and every thing else comes on the motor. it's a complete motor. so the actuator would be his problem, right?
