I need a complete wiring harness for a 2004 C4 CAB. Does anybody now where I could find one? A friend of mine is in need of one and can't find one anywhere. he has tried Porsche but the want his first child.
He is getting frustrated, he has put 2 used ones in but they were for a coupe and a C2.

Every wiring harness is custom built for the options on the car at ordering time. The best you can hope for at a salvage yard is to find one with more options than what you have -- or pay Porsche's price to have a new custom one made to order.

There are three seperate parts of the wiring harness. The engine harness, the harness from the DME to the engine harness (behind the rear seats) and the dashboard forward. I have replaced both the engine harness and the dash harness on different 996 models.
I have a spare DME to engine harness off a CAB, but I don't know if the year would be compatible. You can get the others from either Silverstar Recycling (ask for Jed...he has done the dash harness on his own Boxter) or Porsche Dismantler (916-638-1323 Sam Matsoyan).
After just doing a dash harness, I would seriously consider paying the new price from Sunset Porsche in Oregon (cost plus 10%). There are dozens of differences between the harnesses from similar cars of the same year.
