Default spoiler on cabrio?

Hello,

I tried searching around for an answer to this, but could not find one...

My dad has a '01 996 cabrio and is very interested in this spoiler (i think it's off of a 997 gt3?)?

http://images.motortrend.com/photo_g...T3+spoiler.jpg

Will it fit on his car, what exactly is the spoiler from (a part number would greatly help me!), and where can I get it?

Thanks much guys; great forum!

Yes, that is a MK1 aero, but I don't think that spoiler will fit a Cab. I think there is a clearance issue with the top mechanism.

You are pretty limited on a Cab because the clamshell housing part opens up and back.

here is the "aero cab" rear spoiler

Search for the 'OEM carrera wing' and you'll find more useful info.

IMHO, this is the only rear wing that I have seen that looks good (my opinion) on a cab. The aerokit wings and the misha wings all tend to overpower (looks wise) the rear on cabs.

Agreed, unless you get other overpowering parts of the kit which is hard to come by and super pricey (e.g. Techart).

I agree.
This is the one wing for the 996 Cab.
Nicely balanced.
Would like to have one on my car.

For pre 02 make sure you get the areokit front bumper cover.

For 02-04 they make a crappy $50 lip spoiler you are supposed to add under the front bumper cover.

I actually want to do that with my coupe. Here is Steven's coupe with it and I love the look! I know alot will beat me up for it but I have never liked the taco or bigger wings.

rats, so it isn't possible to make the mk1 wing fit with the cabrio? what other wings are out there that would fit on the cabrio? I've been trying to look for something similar (or hell, pictures of a wing/spoiler ON a cabrio!)

as always, thanks for the input!
