Headlight protective films?

I've had them on my BMW's but none were HID. They REALLY work at keeping the haze and pitting to a minimum. Porsche recommends no films due to overheating/ Anyone have a film on their Xenon headlights and have any issues?? Or no issues? Mine are very smooth and clear and I'd like to keep them that way.

FWIW, I had ventureshield applied when I had my bumper done. It's absolutely clear--almost invisible unless you feel for a seam. No problems at all (1 year so far).

Yep, I also had mine covered during my clear bra install by a local pro. Can't even tell they're on, but since I drive it year round in CO I need them w/ all the rock and sand debris on the roads.
Go for it!

I know how great it is, but I was concerned about the heat from HID damaging the clear lens .. Seems VERY remote to me, especially if I use a 20mil product. 40 or 80 mil seems overkill, unless the lens are glass, like my older BMW's had for fogs...Do you both have Xenon or Bi-Xenon headlights?

ventureshield's is definitely a lot thinner than 3m and "invisible" since it's set on top of the plastic lens v. paint where no plastic is truly invisible.
the 3m i had on my m3 was way thicker than ventureshield which 3m bought out? u still don't really notice it but you can see it if you're looking for it. i like the ventureshield much better because it is so much thinner than 3m which is so thick that you can make out the edge.

No problems with applying protective film (aka clear bra) to the headlamps. We've been doing this for 11 yrs now and not one issue or complaint about it affecting heat buildup on the lights.

I can attest to Premier's claim. They did the protective film installation on my 40th Anniversary 911 w/Xenon's about 3 yrs ago... No issues and clear still.
