Don't want to start 2 separate discussions, so please have a look at the thread with this title that I posted in the 997 forum. Thanks!

Unless you are starting in 2nd gear, and shift at 2k rpm, the answer is a resounding NO!

Every car is underpowered! Especially my C6 Vette - it's claim to fame.

It's all relative.

Going from my everyday 1999 A6 wagon with 200 hp - no way is the C4S underpowered. Going from a 911 turbo - then perhaps it might be. I had a 1988 Honda CRX Si. It only weighed 1920 lbs. and had a little over 105 hp, but it was sure peppy (notice "peppy" but not powerful).

Yeah, it was the first year of that more of a rounded design, not as boxey as the first generation.

I loved it for autocrossing. It was fun.

the 99's are a bit underpowered...but for an 8 year old car the 996 is right on the mark.
the 997 gen cars are all a bit screwy cause of the HP war totally changing the ballpark
