Don't get me wrong: I **love** my 996 and think it's beautiful. But for some reason, I always think 996s look a little frog-like in the face. (I had a boyhood fixation with frogs and toads, so that probably says something ....)
Actually, when I became interested in the 911, many enthusiasts told this 'story' that the designers were inspired by the facial anatomical features of the duck. It may or may not be true, but once I was alerted to this( I owned an 85' Carrera at the time) I tended to agree. The 85', and models before an after look evenmore like the duck than the later 996 due to the big rubber 'smile' that is mounted on the bumper as well as the protruding fender mounted headlights give this strong general comparision to the features of the duck. Anywho its been conversation piece with woman I 've dated who comment about the looks of the 911.

Just my opinion, but I think the 996/997 cars are way better looking from behind. Thats okay with me, its the view most people get anyway.

You must have too much time on your hands. Why don't you come over and detail my P car.

Do I see a resemblence? No. But I'm thinking that the observation you made was made while you were "under the influence."
