Here's the build thread

I started in May of '07 in building a garage on my lot next to my house.

Do you have windows in your basement? I thought it was all closed over, or am I missing something?

Yup two windows. City code. Emergency exit... and they require a certain percentage of "natural light" in a basement.

Suprisingly (even though they are 15 feet down) we get a good amount of light through them, go figure...

Cool. I thought when I saw the pics that the area around the garage was filled in/closed over.
Surprised about the requirements since you already have two exits.
REALLY surprised about natural light being a requirement.

That is SUCH a cool set up.

Did you have to do anything special to keep gasoline fumes (heavier than air) from settling in the basement/rec area?

The door that leads from the garage to the spiral staircase is fire rated and and exterior door.. it's pretty well sealed.
