Thanks! I just bought the pair of Ultimate Cup Holders. I don't like the idea of drinks over me or electronics (we've all been there...) If these work like advertised they should be perfect. I had something similiar for my old C5 Vette (its cupholder was worthless). The only "upgrades" I covet on the new 997 are the IPOD/MP3 connectivity and the cupholders. One down!!

One to go...

Got em'

They work great, no spills at full acceleration. Great stuff, FYI to all.

Here is a link to my cup holders.

You don't even notice them when you are not using them and it is hard to beat the price!

I'm trying to replace my 2002 966 cup holder and cannot get the AC vent out. Instructions say there are two clips on the inside top of the vent ... I cannot find them consequently can't get the vent out to then replace the cup holder. Help>>>>

I bought that cup holder on your link described as "Boxter No Spill Console Cup Holder" and I love it. It's in my 996 so I'm not sure if it's identical but it looks exactly like that. I currently have the lid to the console removed. I bought another console lid on on eBay and I'm going to take a hole saw to it. I'm going to make two holes so I can set drinks down into the holder without raising the lid. Then I'm going to have an upholstery shop recover it in Savannah beige or the light black that matches the rest of the console. I wanted to keep my lid (Savannah Beige) original. I'm telling you it's awesome and convenient. It accommodates two red solos. It does not accommodate stemware (wine glasses). That would be the "ultimate" cup holder.

Default New Cup Holder

I recently purchased a 1999 Carrera 4 Cab from World Motors in Scottsdale, AZ and drove it back to Colorado. This is a great car with only 42k miles, FabSpeed performance package, Kenwood with Bluetooth, integrated K-40 radar detector and perfect inside and out. The only thing it is missing is a cup holder so I designed one to take the place of the console ashtray and printed it out on my 3D printer. I offset the holder to the right so it does not interfere with shifting. If anyone is interested you can go to Thingiverse to download it and print it out or have a service print it. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:292359

i just got ultimatecupholder. Is it suppose to make the side of console to bulge out a little? I feel like it's stretching the console too much
