THAT CAR IS STUNNING.....I can't believe I'm the first to say this, but you gotta get the clear side markers to replace the 'pumpkins'. That interior is super sweet, a true sports car look. ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY. Won't be too long before we get you hooked on some minor mods like a short shifter and muffler mod.

Hell, if he's looking at mods, he should get Eric the bumper plug man to paint the rear bumperettes SY - they sort of stick out right now!

Eric, resist any suggestion about changing the side markers from orange to clear. The orange ones work fine with speed yellow, as do the colored crest wheel caps. Resist......resist......RESIST!!!!!!!

I'm driving it back from Kentucky. That's the reason I don't know when I'm going to actually drive it.

It's an easy/boring drive. I did it once with a Mustang LX 5.0 to go to the SCCA Solo II Regional Championships.

I'll probably do the side markers first, but not in a quick rush, because as I heard here "pumpkin on yellow is probably the only way to have yellow". Even with that said, I'll change them. After that, maybe a short shifter and pedals.

But you have to remember, I'm coming from a 200hp U-boat ('99 Audi A6 Avant) which I think handles well with summer tires (235/40-17) to now a Porsche. I can't even begin to think of the difference.

I'm keeping the wheel crests!

Also - just changed my picture from the Audi to the P-car. I'm so happy!

Also, oil probably from the Land Rover's. The RMS was just changed 1,000 miles ago.

Welcome and congrats. I too love Speed Yellow.

33K seems about right for a clutch - I have heard of them lasting 100K, but I think 33K is about right for a well driven example.

Good luck sleeping waiting for it to arrive!

Congrats! That is a well sorted car to start. Happy modding. Did you end up getting it at the price you wanted?

Congrats. I think the best Porsche ever is a 996 SY C4S. But then I may be a bit bias.

have a good drive through the Bluegrass! Too bad the derby is not closer, you could come to the derby then drive it home with all your winnings! (or sell the car to pay off your losses! )

I got a fair price. I went in really low and worked my way up from that.

I believe it was one of the lowest or the lowest priced C4S at a P-car dealer in the entire country with a CPO. So I'm happy with what I paid, although it was a bit more than I anticipated when I first started searching and was thinking of an '99-01 C2!
