Just wondering, what are the best drives in and around houston for a good spirited drive?

I like the road off 105 north thru the forest on the west side of lake conroe. Early on a weekend morning is nice. Did it crack o dawn X-Mas one time.

I would love to hear of some other nice rides.

Here are a few:

1. FM 1458 from Pattison (North of Brookshire off I-10) to San Felipe. Curves and elevation changes. Not very long.

2. The back roads around New Ulm, Frelsburg, and Fayetteville, all north of Columbus. 109, 1291, 159, etc. Not all that curvy, but scenic and pleasant. Fair number of hills.

3. Northeast of Hempstead. 1488, 362.

4. North of Montgomery. 149 to Richards, Anderson and 3090 into Navasota. I think this is the one you were describing.

5. North of Brenham 105, 50, then west on 390. 1948 in the area is nice too.

6. Chappell Hill (Off 290), 1155, 105, 390 to Independence.

Thanks. I had not thought of New Ulm or 1458. I used to ride my bicycle out there.

I'll second that. I tested my 997 there in January. There is no "spirited drive" that can match that kind of fun! I wish it were in my neighborhood.

DCP,

I live in the woodlands. That's a good list, will have to try them out. I just got my p-car last week. best thing close i can find is over in the village of creekside. The new village in the woodlands. Pretty good stretch between Gosling and Kuykendahl, just not very long
