It is not a reman motor, '66X' is the engine code for 1999. A reman motor has 'AT' between the engine type and the serial number. For instance the reman motor in my garage has the code M96/03 AT 665 65160.
The new X51 engine is M96/03 S 665 40644
Any 'coding' is between the engine type and the beginning of the serial number (ie the rebuilt engine code AT and the X51 designation 'S' in the above two examples). The next three digits of the serial number reflect the year of the engine.
66W is 1998
66X is 1999
66Y is 2000
661 through 665 is 2001 through 2005 respectively. Thus both of the engines in my examples were built in 2005.
The last 5 are the sequential serial number.
