Windshield Wiper Removal (?)
This morning, I turned on my wipers before realizing they were frozen to the windshield, and now my drivers side wiper arm seems to be stripped. It doesn't stay in one position on the shaft, and basically doesn't work anymore. The shaft still spins as it should, it's just the wiper sometimes goes half-way, or not at all, and obviously this needs to be fixed quickly.
My plan is to remove the wiper arm from the shaft, and put a temporary fix on there: maybe a strip of electrical tape or something on the shaft, then I'd force the blade down on it for more friction. Seems like it would work to me, at least until I find the time to take it in for a proper fix.
So how do I get the wiper off? I haven't had time to really inspect it, but does it just pop off?

I cant remember if the 996 is the same as other cars but there is a little L-shaped tab coming from the bottom of the arm where it meets the shaft. Pull the tab outward and pull the arm off the shaft at the same time.
Cool - thanks guys. I saw the nut under the plastic cover when I came back to my car after work, but didn't have time to mess with it. I think I can fix it without much problem.
Good thing I bought those PIAA wipers with the silicon coating! Last night I was driving home down a crowded highway in the rain with the wipers off, and the water just rolled right off, so I could see fine.
