Default For those of you with Champion wheels....

I have a set of 19" RG5B wheels on my 996, and the front drivers side tire has developed a slow leak as the car has been stored away for the winter months in New England. I took the wheel off and with some examination, now know the cause of the slow leak is from the rubber grommet that holds the "L" shaped valve stem to the inner rim of the wheel. Not sure they still do this on the newer champion wheels, but the hole where the valve stem connects into the rim is behind the front spokes, and the stem is in an "L" shape to reach the front of the rim to access.

Does anyone know if the rubber grommets used in these wheels are standard items I can just get at a normal car tire shop (for them to replace) - or do I need to order them directly from Champion??

Thanks in advance,
Will

And you really ought to replace rubber stems with metal stems. Rubber stems can fail at speed with very poor results.
