Hmmm..looks like supple leather? I've been looking at P cars in Dallas for months and haven't viewed any cars personally in their inventory. What I can tell you is judging by location, it's not a "dealership" per se, more of a store front with cars located in nearby warehouse or adjoining storage facility. (not that this means anything -just mentioning). The North Texas market is very soft at this point. What exactly are you looking for - I've seen so many, may be able to point you in an unbiased direction towards your best deal.

I'd say that the photos of the interior are mostly just bad photos... not sure what you're referring to on the "lived in" comment - I think that the photos are just overexposed. With the exception of the scuff on the handbrake lever I don't see any scuffing of the leather, or any of the interior decals and lettering. As other have said, supple leather is supposed to look like that - I have the same in my car.

Looks like it's in decent shape.

thanks. i did have supple on my 993 targa and it was pretty much spotless and looked better in pics than this car does. what i noticed in the pics was a good bit of wear on the drivers seat bolsters. use the zoom feature specifically on image '10'. i fear its the kind of damage that wont come out with cleaning and treatment.
i've also sent these guys a slug of questions re history etc so lets see how forthcoming they are.

Yeah, for some reason 996 interiors don't photograph well. Every interior picture I have looks like crap, though in reality it looks just fine. Well, except for the acres of black plastic, but I've long since come to terms with that.

I see what you mean... the dirt will probably come off with a good leather conditioner. As for the markings that are there - I cannot tell if that's leather grain marks or scuffing.... ask them for a better photo that's not over exposed. a multitude of sins can be covered by bad photos.

John,

Too bad you missed mine when it was for sale. 2004 Carrera 2, 6-speed manual, 45,500 miles for $42,000. My interior is in better condition than the Targa's interior. The Targa's price is too high.

To remove the doubt on the buyer's part of whether anyone even bothered to clean the car out when they took possession of it. I've always liked it, just like I liked the carpet stripes left by the vacuum in the house I grew up in.

Damn, detailed or not that is one sloppy car. Dirty seats, scuffed up door sill, dirty steering wheel...even the pics of the seat controls and light switch show lots of less than necessary particulate...

Maybe my standards are high but I would find a cleaner car to start out with... and it is not that cheap considering it's condition.

FWIW, I've made some great connections in Dallas looking at cars and have a multitude of deals I didn't take if you tell me what you're looking at, I could put you in touch with the right person.
