Those wheels in the pictures are not original. They should have a Porsche part number

The link is a pretty hot deal if it is legit. The bad part about buying it online is you cannot inspect to see if it was refinished due to the rim being cracked or bent.

No affiliation with the seller I just came across them when I was looking for replacements. I ended up finding a used set in Boxster size w/ some scratches for $550 w// caps and lug bolts

The photos you show look like OEM wheels, as I have never seen the size and offset shown next to the valve stem on the replicas. Yours probably say "Made in Germany" and "BBS" on the back near the center of the wheel.

I called when I saw this thread. The person I spoke to said they are OEM unless the part number ends in an N, then they are replicas.

I took a chance and ordered a set, so I'll let you know how it turns out.

Guys, an update on my purchase. I ordered OEM Carrera 5 spoke wheels on line. However they shipped replicas. I called and they told me these were shipped in error. They didn't have any OEM in stock, and they usually confirm a change before shipping, but didn't.

They offered me a pretty big discount, or full refund including the shipping both ways.

I was disappointed they didn't have the real wheels at that price, but was very happy with the service in the end.

I bought a new track car and was planning to learn on these before I spend real money on light weight GT3 wheels. I figured, if I bent one of these, they are cheaper to replace than fixing a more expensive wheel. They weigh within a pound of the OEM, so may not be a bad option at this price.

I was going down the same lines of thought but have my reservations if they bend too easily (I like to use the curbs at the track...what can I say). Did you weigh the replica's that you bought as according to the research I've done the replicas are 2.5lbs heavier each for the fronts and 4lbs each heavier for the rears.

The rear I weighed was right around 24 lbs. I think the OEM weigh 23.36. I did it on a bathroom scale, so it was not too scientific.

My mechanic said to keep them anyway and sell them when I get new wheels. I don't really need them, so will probably send them back. He said these would not be that different from the OE since they are both cast. I guess I'm still stuck in the forged fuchs versus cast fuchs mindset of my previous cars. But at well under 200 a piece, they are pretty disposable without much regret.

Anyone else bothered by this image of a rim sitting on rocks, face down?

I didn't like the MY02 5-spokes when I bought my car last year, but they are growing on me!

I still like the Twists, because the tie the car back to the 993.
