Default Bon Voyage!

My '03 triple black C4S is scheduled to board a roll on roll off ship today. I've never even been on a cruise myself. There will be lots of good company - about 1700 vehicles are being moved out of the US per day and 400 of them will be on this ship.

After hearing about the BMW M3 / 135 RORO that hit bad weather and 170 cars were totaled (possible delaying the M3 introduction to the US) I'm worried!
Fingers crossed that the trip will be uneventful!

The car is due in Germany on the 12th of Feb and the SO and I are flying up to Hamburg and will drive over to Bremerhaven to pick it up.

It's about a 6 hour drive so we will make a long weekend out of it. Rhein Valley and the Romantish strasse here we come!

Just received word that the Baltimore shipper has delivered the car to the ship and it will be pushing off today.

Has anyone else shipped their P car overseas?

Nope. I actually buy them in Germany

Do you guys have to pay taxes when importing from the USA? I will probably need some guidance from you in a near future.

No taxes - no customs. I only pay shipping and handling charges. Registration costs $30 per year. For the US military Germany is car heaven!

Heimsheim is about 6 miles from the Weissach test track and about 17 miles out of Stuttart.

Congrats! I'm sure it will be just fine.... unlike these unlucky cars.
