Default Should I sell????

Had my '99 listed since summer. Have only driven it 14000 m in the past 7 years after moving to a snow belt. Initially was gonna go C4S as my only car, but continued shopping for a more practical but fun alternative and am ecstatic with my VW R32. Plan: Wait for the 998 while I live with the DSG to make an informed decision regarding transmission and play around with mods on the VW (it is a really impressive car, BTW).....

Back on topic, the 996 is "worth" $27500 using Edmunds private party value, and I have Kinesis wheels and ROW M030 springs that I couldn't load into their calculation. I figger $29500 is reasonable but I have an oil leak (undiagnosed, I'm figuring RMS) and an ignition switch that needs replacing.

Offer is $27500.

Not just the money, of course. Nice to have a 911 waiting for spring. But hell, i'll save $1000/year just on insurance/reg aside from the further depreciation.....

Info on the car?

I would say your oil has to do with driving it 2000 miles a year only, everything is probably dried out.

Porsche is just like every other car, mods DECREASE the value to most buyers.
Only select mods are really marketable to select buyers as something that adds value.

I agree.

Owners who are proud of what they've done in "improving" the car via modifications will often find unenthusiastic buyers who don't place the same value on those modifications. And, if fact, they're often perceived as negatives.

This isn't a value judgment on whether the car should be modded in the first place, only an observation that their impact on the selling price should be considered not necessarily as "add ons" to the price but perhaps a reduction to the price.

In any event, good luck in selling your car!

Sent you my "canned" email... Sorry it's not personalized, but thanks for your interest. It's a C2, and not black, but is a MT.....
