Default Got an irritating squeek/groan in the dash

.. of my 99 C2. Chalk it up to the roads in SF. Sounds as though it is coming from the right corner in front of the passenger at the base of the A pillar. Having looked at the thread on the burnt 996 I am wondering if a weld or bolt has broken on the dash support. Anyone else experience something similar?

There is a few common problems in that area. First it could be the upper defroster trim rubbing on the A-pillar, second it could be the windshield, there is a TSB on this, I believe there is a replacement rope that goes in or something...do a search on this one.Side note My TT groans and squeaks like a bastard in the colder weather.

Felt is a Porsche owners best friend. I remember on my 04 C2, the dealer used a full roll of felt tape..everywhere..........It works wonders

Yep. I think it's not just Porsche. I used alot of felt in my previous MB's also. It must be a Stuttgart thing. My older BMW's never needed felt.

Jon, I see you still haven't quite completed your quest to get the Q key fixed on your laptop. It's too bad quality control didn't quite find the time to quickly resolve this quirk.

lol...was wondering when you'd chime in again on my kwirk in kuality. I am trying to change things up with spelling with "kw" vs. "kui'....swapping here and there....kinda fun. Cue is overrated....my kid makes me play a game where you can't pronounce any words with "s" in it....not so easy. Reminds me of my laptop with missing letter and shift key on the left side. So now, you'll notice i'm lacking capitals at times too. :b anghead::ban ghead:

On the 964 a front strut brace stopped all of my dash creaking. I wonder if it would help the 996 as well?
