Charlotte Porsche Parade
Okay, first call - who's going to the Porsche Parade in Charlotte?
I'm severely tempted, if only for an excuse to get together with Tim and Dell.
Right now I'm thinking of driving down on Friday and driving back on Tuesday - maybe we can do a Rennlist gathering.

Come on down. I volunteered through the local PCA and will be taking the week off to help. Here's a link to some preliminary info:

Awe crap, I can't go! My Porsche will be gone by then!
I would love to met up with you guys, if you are willing to let a Porsche-less guy tag along!

Hey guys - we'd welcome you all with open arms down here. I've been attending the Parade meetings, as I'll be working on the Presentations for the banquets through our Carolinas Region chapter. It looks like this is going to be a stellar event!
If you do plan on attending, registration is expected to fill up on the first day, so make sure you get to the website on the first day of registration and sign up! There will be a Carolinas Region DE just following the Parade at Lowe's Motor Speedway, so if you can't get into the Parade proper you may as well come into town for that.

So help me understand how this works - is there limited entrance to the parade events? - this would be my first one, so I've no clue how they're run or what goes on.

It is a rather long trip for me.. believe the events are about 2 blocks from my office
Would be my first parade as well and definitely am interested to meet up with people.

Dutchie, I'd forgotten that you were in Charlotte also - cool!
For us it will be around an 8-9 hour drive - the longest drive I'll have taken with the Porsche. I'd thought of suggesting that Phil join us, but I think that would just send him into convulsions at the thought of putting that many miles on his car.
So does anyone know how these work? I have no sense of the logistics of the event.
Unfortunately, I'll be out of the country when the registration opens, so I'll have to rely on either having a good internet connection at my hotel in Brussels, or getting my wife to do the registration for me.

Should be fun - I went to one of these events in Orangeburg NY years ago, when my brother showed his 1968 Sepia Brown 911T and came in a close 2nd to "Mr. Clean" - those in CT may remember him (he had a perfect '60's Guards Red 911S Targa).
