Default Looking for help with options

Hello All. I'm looking at purchasing a 03 C2 and the seller does not have any information regarding options. I have the VIN. PCNA will not give out any option and the two local dealers I contacted similarly informed me they can not or will not provide the information. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Get the seller to photograph the options sticker that's under the hood (front) and send you a copy - that or just list the option codes from the sticker - from there you can plug them into an option decoder like this one

http://www.kindel.com/Porsche/options.asp

and you'll have the list of factory options. The owner will hopefully then be able to give you a list of aftermarket upgrades that have been done to that car.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link to that site.
I didn't get complete documentation with my '99 either.

So among the handful of options I have, it includes 220 which comes up as Locking Differential.
Does that mean limited slip differential?

Glad to help.

That's one of the most complete option decoder sites that I've come across, although Renntech has a pretty good one also.

As for the locking diff, no, they're not the same.

Here's the differences -

I've run the codes from the car I'm interested in, but the kindel link does not have any information on the following codes: CO2 or C02, x47, x58 and 226. Anyone know the options these codes represent? Thanks very much and Happy New Year. Jack.

CO2 is catalytic converter.

X47 : shifter in carbon/alu leather
X58 : handbrake in carbon/alu leather

(I have those and like them a lot.

I cannot find anything on 226.

You're welcome. The only thing we expect in return for help are for you to post photos of the car when you buy it.

That's the easy part. The hard part is making sure I negotiate a fair enough price on my S8 I'm selling back to the dealer.
