Default My brakes are not too grippy!

Friends: Since I have no bench mark to judge the performance of my brakes, they do feel not too strong! When I compare them to the brakes on my 2004M3 (very grippy, actually a bit too grabby), they feel like I've been on the track for a couple of hours...not mushy but not as grippy kinda as if they were glazed. Is that normal?

I checked the thickness of the pads and it's ok and there is plenty of brake fluid in the reservoir. What do you think?

Thanks

Normal. Porsche brakes always require more effort.

I like my 996 C4S's brakes better than the E46 M3... it's easier heel-toeing with the C4S.

What you are feeling is the overboosting of the brake booster on the M3. Porsche uses a smaller booster. This also makes the brakes feel more linear than other cars.

BMW brakes are way too assisted. My 335i is the same way. I prefer the feel of the P brakes.

Sometimes I feel like the BMW brakes are a binary switch

plus even the gas pedal is too sensitive on the 330i.

Wait 'till you try Sport mode in the M3. It's too sensitive even for track use. Great for heel-toeing though.
