remote key battery change (x-post)
I asked this on the TT forum also.
The battery in one of my keys died today. Has anybody changed their own battery? I have the TSB and it says for the dealer to inform their customers not to replace the battery themselves. Is this a way to make a few extra bucks or true? The TSB gives a step by step how to and looks like a no brainer. Is the battery Porsche specific and only dealer sold or a off the shelf size? I dont want to take a chance on messing up the programing so I figured asking here would be best first.
Oh yea I did a search

Did my own. Just brought my key to a neighborhood hardware store. They knew immediately what size battery. We popped it in and I was back in business in 60 seconds. Good luck. Andy T
