9.5" rears? Not for a 996 Carrera.

Sure, BBS states they are "for" a 996.....meaning they will "fit" a 996.

However, the Carrera rears are 10". Further, a 9.5" rim does not accommodate a 285 tire that is also stock. You would have to drop down to the old 265 width tire (which was also used on a 10" wheel) to be able to use the 9.5" wheel.

The Boxster runs a 265 rear in the optional 18" size. However, I am not as familiar with the offsets of the Boxster so I can't speak to fitment.

Your exactly right, that's why I didn't say that you can also use your factory tires for them because they are smaller in width. They do offer the tens for the rear if you or anyone else is interested, we would just have to special order a whole new set of wheels because then that would leaves us with two 9.5's. Thanks for your 2cents

With these wheels, can't you just order the outer rim halves required to make them 10" or wider? I thought the big advantage of 3 piece wheels is that they are modular - so if you damage the outer rim, you can just replace the outer instead of the whole wheel. Or in this case, swap out the outer rim halves for wider ones and bolt 'em on.
