Yeah, the porsche made more sense to buy than a Machine gun! If I ever can affort to spend 20k on a gun you can bet I will be driving a car worth at least 10x that!

Reason #1

Exotic sports cars without racing girls doesn't complete the picture.

Reason #2

Curves on my avatar, compared to the curves on the P cars, are much more exciting

Cheers

Why? not sure, I guess the "neat" factor has a lot to do with it. The pistol, laser sight, silencer and tax was less than 1k. really cool plinker.
I love letting friends shoot it just like I love letting friends drive the Boxster.

The background check was about 3 months with photos and fingerprints. Here is a little known fact. The tax is only 200 bucks on a class 3 weapon. Silencer or Machine gun. I cannot afford a machine gun yet. a nice one will run you 20k. Makes the 200 bucks not seem like much!
and wh y the heck would one want to have a machine gun????? Understand hunting, etc... but unless you are in Iraq or a crack dealer, don't see why you need one of them.

You obvious don't understand gun nuts. Bigger and more powerful is better. Even better if they can have lots of big and powerful things that go bang.

... some might say that they need these things to compensate for other things that might be lacking.

Some have said that an AK47 is absolutely necessary for taking down a deer, because nothing else will stop those nasty vicious creatures.

We all know that these people just fire blanks anyway.

Now think about it, what does it say about someone that has to have the biggest and most powerful guns and they drive a Porsche?

That's like asking why you need a sports car that can go 170 mph...... unless you take it to a race track or live next to the autobahn, "don't see why you need one of them".

People don't "need" lots of things, but some like them anyway. As long as they shoot them or drive them in a legally responsible manner what is the problem?

Well, speaking of guns that we don't necessarily "need", and to further the thread hijack somewhat:

Here's one of my insurance agents -
SigSauer P220 .45acp, loaded with some big fat hollow points:

This thread got way OT. anyhow, just like all of us like to drive a wonderful looking car with a great exhaust note because we can, some of us like to make a lot of noise and put a bunch of lead down range. These guys are in the local Porsche club....and on Rennlist. You are looking at over 100k worth of firearms. More in Firearms than the Cayenne Turbo in the Background!
