Very cool! It would make door dings a thing of the past if widely adopted. There are practical considerations though. There needs to be space under the cabin for the door to fit. What is sacrificed to make that room? It wouldn't work for our cars, but regular sedans and SUV's it should. I assume this is an aftermarket product that would be VERY expensive.

That is cool. Some jackass parked his Ford Excursion about a foot away from my driver's door at the Best Buy. Luckily I have a cabriolet because I had to lower the top so I can crack the door open and slide in. I could've used the JATECH door.

Is this safe for the occupants??? Sure it allows door-to-door parking between cars, great
, but isn't there a sacrifice made to the safety of the door and the occupants.
Other than that it's a cool idea.

That's what I was thinking when I saw it. Structural rigidity I'm sure has been compromised somehow. Without seeing schematics, no one would know for sure.

Hmmm. How about those rainy or snowy days when you just crack that door open enough to squeeze out to keep the weather off your leather? Occasionally the best method for something can be the original.

I'm sure there would be a manual way to lower the door.
