Default 1999 996 Limited Slip Witout Traction Control?

Did any of the 1999 996's come equipped with limited slip but not traction control or vise versa? I have seen some 1999 996’s on the net that don’t have the traction control button but I was wondering if they could still have limited slip?

A search will give you plenty. Short answer for 99s: LSD was an option. Traction control was not available.

Bruce, my search said that traction control was available in the 1999 but not PSM. I want to know if you could get limited slip without it or did it always come as a package.

When you said "limited slip", I assumed you were referring to the limited slip differential. As far as TC and PSM are concerned, 'fraid I don't know the answer to that one.

Traction control was an option for MY99, code #224.

I'm not sure if it's compatible w/LSD or not.

I was referring to limited slip diff. I want to know if limit slip diff and traction control came separate or always as a package.

Rob, does your car have a 220 option code under the front trunk hood?

No, I have PSM ( MY01 C4 ) - #220 is for LSD .

I don't know the answer to your question. I was just referring to Bruce's post about TC on '99.

Absolutely incorrect. Here is the option list from my '99 996:

09991 EXCLUSIVE OPTIONS (manufactured from the exclusive-program)
CO2 - CATALYTIC CONVERTER
XAA - FACTORY INSTALLED AEROKIT CUP
XRL - 18" SPORTDESIGN WHEEL
220 - LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL 40 %
222 - TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM
224 - AUTOMATIC LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL
236 - 18" TIRES
375 - SPORTSEAT, BACKREST SHELL, LEFT
378 - COMBINATION SEAT, RIGHT, ADJUSTABLE
424 - CD COMPARTMENT
436 - 3-SPOKE AIRBAG STEERING WHEEL
652 - DELETE SUNROOF
983 - SEAT COVERS FRONT, LEATHER

Yes, a mechanical locking differential and traction control.

I have never seen a 99 C2 that had LSD WITHOUT TC.

Ditto - in MY99 (and only 1999) they always came together.

I stand corrected. Apologies if I misled the OP. I must have been thinking about PSM.

But thanks awfully for being so nice about it.

Loren,

I cannot find my option codes anywhere. How can I find out what my car came with?

Nah...if I was going to be mean....I would have posted this

Lately - the only way to get a point across is be blatant about it. My apologies if it came across that way.
